31 million views on YouTube, from two channels I built

Aversy, a commentary Shorts channel that ran on a pipeline I built, and Neuron Ch., one of the first clip channels for the AI VTuber Neuro-sama. Here is how each one worked, and what the numbers looked like.

Aversy: commentary Shorts on a pipeline (2022 – 2026)

Aversy is a commentary Shorts channel. It reached 27.3M views, 313k hours watched and 38.7k subscribers. Six Shorts passed a million views, the top one 8.4 million, and on its best days the channel passed 700,000 views.

I picked the clips by hand. Everything after that ran on its own, which is how one person could post about three Shorts a day:

Clip
Chosen by me. The one step I kept manual.
Script
A language model wrote the commentary for the clip.
Voice
Fish Audio read the script in a cloned voice.
Edit
Remotion put the clip and the voiceover together into the finished Short.
Thumbnail

Post
About three a day.

Neuron Ch.: early Neuro-sama clips (2022 – 2023)

Neuro-sama is an AI VTuber: a language model that streams, chats and plays games. I started Neuron Ch. while she was still using a stock avatar, before her original model debuted in May 2023, and posted short clips of her streams for people who hadn't found her yet. Most of the views came in March and April 2023.

What I learned

Automate the repetitive part, keep the judgment
Picking the clip was the one step I did by hand. Script, voice, edit and thumbnail ran on their own, which is what let one person post three Shorts a day.
Volume finds the hits
Six Shorts brought in 20M of Aversy's 27.3M views, about 73%. There is no telling in advance which one will take off, so the work is posting consistently and letting the numbers decide.
Being early beats being polished
Neuron Ch. started before Neuro-sama had her own model, and most of its views came in March and April 2023, while few others were clipping her. Showing up early to a growing audience mattered more than production value.
What I'd do for a game
The same: build the clip pipeline first, post often, and start well before launch, while the audience is still small.
